Macbeth Act II Analysis Response Questions

1) I think that Lady Macbeth faints because she probably realizes and sees that Macbeth is giving out too much information and to distract them, she pretends to faint. She also faints to make the others think she had nothing to do with the crime because she is so sad and overwhelmed with the death. What this tells us about Lady Macbeth's character and personality is that she is a very sneaky woman and intelligent because she plans different ways on how to approach stuff until she gets want she wants or in this case, what she thinks they deserve.

2) After Malcolm and Donalbain discover that their father had been murdered, they decide to flee because they didn't feel safe, since they thought that whoever killed their father will probably try to kill them next.

3) The mood of Act II is depressing with a tragic atmosphere. The images or details in the characters' speeches that help us create this mood would be the murder of Duncan, the blood dagger, and the blood on Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's hands.

4) Yes, we do see the witches' prophecies or predictions about Macbeth and Banquo coming true because of how fast things are going for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, giving him the path to the throne by becoming the next King of Scotland due to Duncan's death. But with Banquo, we see that the prophecies about him not becoming king are not coming true since he is not yet king.

5) I strongly agree with statement number 5 "Human beings are tempted by the things they want, even if those things are wrong," because it is true that anyone can be tempted by anything, even if they know its bad, they'll probably still do it due to the fact that that's what they want and not what they necessarily need, but that's how temptation works and everyone can experience it. As shown in the Acts I and II of Macbeth, we see that Macbeth is tempted by the witches that brought him the idea of him becoming king. That also brings temptation to not only him but his wife, Lady Macbeth, who encourages him to do anything that's possible in his own hands that will get him to the throne fast, and that obviously benefits her in some way.

4) Love, hate, repeat.

Blog Post #4-Visiting a Classmate's Blog

Today, I visited and checked out one of my closest friend's blog, Samantha Garcia. One of the posts that I read on her blog was Blog Post #1-About my book. The book she's currently reading is titled, It's Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. What I found interesting about my classmate's blog was the way she found amazing connections by relating them to her own experiences and to others. Some strong points that were in Samantha's blog post was how she clearly explain in detail her thoughts about the book by opening up to her own struggles that she faces almost everyday, which is such a brave thing to talk about and express out in the open.(:
I hope you guys go and check out Sammy's blog post and her blog in general and my comment as well as commenting on one of her post!

IR Blog Post #3-Questions

Who inspired you to write this book or what was your inspiration overall that motivated you to write this book? I'm asking this question because I want to know more in depth about how this whole plot was created and its reasons for why it was written.
Who, of all the characters, do you believe should be happy in this book? I ask this because as far as I'm reading right now, almost everyone seems unhappy or lonely and with the need of being loved.
What do you think makes this book brilliant and enjoyable to read? I'm asking this because I want others to know the reasons of why we should be reading this book and the things that make it interesting and relatable.
What could be the main conflict of this book, overall? I'm asking this question because I see many small conflicts happening throughout the book but I want o know the main problem that causes the characters to feel the way they're feeling.

IR Blog Post #2-Significant Section

I feel that the most important part of the book I'm currently reading titled, Looking for Alaska, would be when Miles a.k.a Pudge, the main character, and his friends Alaska, Takumi, and the Colonel got busted near the lake while smoking cigarettes by the Eagle, the dean of students. He later tells them he expects all of them at jury the next day for serious discipline and consequences. Before that happens, Alaska and the Colonel tell Miles to sit tight and not talk. He was confused but then realized they took all the blame. I feel like this part is a significant part of my IR book because it really shows the main character who his real friends are and how they will risk everything for him, which is something that didn't really occur to him that often.

Blog Post #1-About my book

About my book
The book that I have selected to read for my Independent Reading Blog project is titled Looking for Alaska. It was written by the author, John Green. I chose to read this specific book for my project because personally, I'm a big fan of John Green's books overall and I heard it was such a lovely story that I'll make you cry. The main character of my book is Miles Halter. He's a young teen who's a junior at his new high school and who's obsessed with the last words of dead people. Based on what I've read so far, I believe theirs many possible themes for this book because it talks about the meaning of what friendship really means to them, what home looks like, it talks about life, mortality, and how the they make choices.

Text Connections
When I look at all the characters and analyze their traits and personalities, I believe I am able to connect the most with both Miles, the main character, and Alaska, his secret lover whom he deeply has a crush on. I say this because they're both obsessed with books and they read a lot, which is something I truly love to do as well. Alaska likes mysteries and she is a mystery herself by the way she talks and acts and her obsessions with life and death. Miles on the other hand is struggling to find his way through life and his personal problems as well as his academic. Another connection would be to his other books he published since I enjoy reading about romance and mysteries and that's what all his novels are about.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Dominguez. I am 15 years old and currently a sophomore at Chicago Math and Science Academy. I come from a family of 7. I have 3 sisters and a baby brother. I would consider myself as a very caring and responsible student and friend who always likes to see others smile and keep doing better everyday. Both my parents always push me to do my best and I love them for that. My main interests would be to keep on studying so I can do better in the future. I also like to read and get involved in many extra activities that could help me in my academic and social progress. I also love making new friends and meeting new people because I like to share new experiences and I also find it interesting learning new things about others. I would describe myself as a very religious person as well, since my parents have inculcated me since I was a child and I personally believe in my faith because in a way it has also helped me since I'm very involved in activities that helped me as a person and around my community. Some of my favorite subjects would be reading and writing. I really enjoy the fact that these classes really put me up to critical thinking and analyzing articles as well as difficult problems that I never thought I could explain or describe but throughout the years I have discovered many wonderful things that made me the person who I really am as of today. If I could describe my English class, I would describe it as a fun, energetic, and interesting class since many of the topics we learn are really compelling as well as my English teacher, Ms.Moore, who I would also describe as a nice and very positive person who is always encouraging us to do better by setting challenging goals and making connections with the outside world. Another thing I like about my teacher, Ms. Moore, would be the fact that she makes extra time to listen to us when we want to talk to her in private about personal problems or just in general since she's always giving good advice that makes us think and see whats really beneficial for our future. I believe I have created this blog today, for this class, to make us think more and analyze many different types of text as well as expressing ourselves and who we are as a person.
